Brewer Elementary School Partnership Back to School Update

Wow! Back to School is upon us! Teachers will be officially returning to their classrooms on Monday, August 1st. Pre-K through 2nd graders will return on Friday, August 5. 3rd graders and up will return on Monday, August 8. St. Thomas will be helping the students and staff at Brewer by collecting the following items:

New Backpacks, New Lunch Boxes, and Bottled Water

In conjunction with the St. Thomas seasonal theme exploring the art of Alma Thomas, we’ll be collecting art supplies for the students at Brewer Elementary as well.

Here is the wish list from art teacher Katy Kent:

"I would love some Sargent Tempera Paint Sticks packs of 12 ct., a class set (28) or two or three would be great!!! Also some charcoal sticks and White Rain hairspray to use as a fixative would be nice! That brand is hard to find, doesn't stink and sets charcoal very nicely and is cheap!!!! Sidewalk chalk, beads with string to make necklaces or bracelets,.....honestly anything you offer will be most appreciated! Some heavy drawing/painting paper is always wonderful too! And I guess if I'm making a wish list some canvases would need to be on that list for sure!! Thank you in advance!!!! “

She tells me the Sargent Tempera Paint Sticks are particularly good for little hands and can be found online at Blick Art Supplies or at Nasco.
